W900

Kenworth has announced it will retire three of its most iconic models—the W900, T800W, and C500—in 2026, marking the end of an era for trucks that have played a pivotal role in the heavy vocational industries Inland serves across Western Canada and the Southwestern U.S.

These models, built on Kenworth’s legacy 1.9-meter cab platform, have long been trusted by Inland customers in forestry, construction, logging, and extreme heavy-haul operations. With evolving emissions regulations and changing industry demands, Kenworth is shifting its focus to newer platforms that offer improved integration, performance, and environmental efficiency.

W900: A Staple of Trucking Culture

Since 1963, the Kenworth W900 has been a symbol of pride for drivers and fleets alike. With its long hood, powerful stance, and unmistakable profile, it became a go-to for long-haul and vocational operators. Inland customers have relied on the W900 not only for its iconic design but also for its rugged dependability in some of the most demanding environments.

T800: Built for the Jobsite

Introduced in 1986, the T800W became a workhorse across Inland’s territories. With its wide hood and ability to accommodate large engines and robust components, the T800 earned a reputation as the truck you could count on—whether hauling logs in the B.C. interior or moving massive loads across Saskatchewan oilfields.

C500: Extreme Applications, No Compromises

For the most extreme conditions, there was only one answer: the C500. Purpose-built for off-road and specialty heavy-haul, this truck handled the toughest terrain with unmatched strength. Many of Inland’s customers operating in remote mining and logging operations have come to rely on the C500 where other trucks simply can’t go.

Looking Ahead

While saying goodbye to these models is difficult, Kenworth’s new generation of trucks—like the T880 and W990—continue to carry forward the brand’s legacy of craftsmanship, power, and driver comfort. Inland is proud to support customers through this transition and will continue to provide the equipment, parts, and service they need to get the job done.
